This is the music website of Mark G. Anderson. Professionally I am an ecologist, but my family will tell you I am completely guitar-dependent except when hiking.
I created this web site to share musical ideas, compositions and arrangements with other music lovers and guitar addicts. Especially those who, like me, have hundreds of pages of scribbled out guitar pieces that they thought one day they would master and record. For me that day has come – Yikes!
My Plan
This is a work in progress. What I hope to do is:
- Create a high quality recording of each of my compositions and arrangements. They have piled up over time. Maybe hundreds.
- Post each recording for listening or download
- Post the tablature and/or music for each piece so others can give them a spin. I was raised on Kicking Mule Records free tab books and I want to give back!
- Connect with other guitarists and musicians who share an interest in arranging and composing.

What styles of music do you arrange?
You name it! As long as I like the original and can figure out how to capture the sound on guitar. I even have some African mbira pieces that require weaving a thin piece of paper through the strings to get the reverberation.

Do you offer lessons or tutorials for guitar?
I do not offer formal lessons or tutorials. However, I am happy to answer questions if you attempt to play any of these arrangements from the tab or by ear.

Absolutely! I love taking requests for specific arrangements. Please provide details about the piece you have in mind.
What is your process for creating arrangements?
My process involves analyzing the original piece, understanding its structure, and then reimagining it for acoustic guitar. I focus on maximizing resonance and ensuring that the arrangement captures the essence of the original while adding unique guitar touches like slides, rolls and bends.
